on October 31, 2016Allium is a difficult genus identification-wise. This is not A.wallichii. This is typically an Eastern Himalaya species inhabiting higher rainfall areas. There is a record for the species in Chitral but I think this is questionable. This plant seems to be Allium przewalskianum recorded from Chitral, Baltistan & Ladakh. Often the 'bulbs' are of importance when confirming an identification. Chris Chadwell shpa.org.uk
