on October 31, 2016Correctly identified. Forming large cushions in the Artemisia association on barren hillsides. The only 'Himalayan' species or perhaps more accurately 'Tibetan borderland' species within this genus - which has several other species at lower levels in other parts of Pakistan. Common in Ladakh. 'Flowers of the Himalaya' give 3000-4500m but Stewart has records to 5800m! Chris Chadwell shpa.org.uk
